18th: Back on track

So,yeah, it's been a while. Too long. All that sort of stuff. Sorry. And Yadda-yadda for good measure.

So, last news first; Chateau Keyboard is still for sale (what's the matter with you people? Beautiful house in the South of France and you don't want to buy it?) which means that I can't afford to go to Chef School in October. In fact I can barely afford to breathe at the moment since I'd cut down on all the journalism in anticipation of being out of here by, well, several months ago really.

Now I've got to go out and get a proper job, I think; Frank, the chef at the Grange de Labahou where I've been working for a day or two a week reckons I shouldn't have any difficulty getting a job as an assistant cuisine - washing up, preparing vegetables, basically what I've been doing for him - in some restaurant around here, and there are indeed a couple of suitable vacancies being advertised. All I have to do now is insert myself into the French social security system...which shouldn't take more than three or four years, French bureaucracy being what it is.

Also, you will have noticed that the diary's moved back to the original format, or something similar. I have to confess I never really got on with the last thing; it was theoretically handy being able to make an entry from anywhere, but I never did that. And now that the tide of truly horrible pornographic spam appears to be uncontrollable, I've given up on it. And Movable Type costs money I don't have.
