It does help, getting stuff off your chest like that. So I do feel better.
I've phoned around this morning and am sending off four CVs and have an interview tomorrow at a restaurant between Nimes and Avignon.
Talking of which, it's off to see Marie (read her journal, it's much more intellectual than this stuff - she has big words, reads books, writes film commentaries and has philosophical debates with her readers) this afternoon and then out to see a French film. In French. With no subtitles. I'm quite surprised how my French has come on in the past year - now I can watch Urgences - ER to you - in French and understand what's going on. Just a year ago it was all incomprehensible. Still, that's what spending all day talking French does for you - now, the only English I hear is during a rare moment at home in front of the telly, or on the phone to Wendy. Who, since you ask, is doing very well; Alicia Mai is due at the end of November now so wish her well via http://www.wendyhouses.net.
